I'm so glad that appropriate action has taken place to protect our younger members, including myself!

Shea, did you report the username attached to the alert?

It is best to simply report the behavior, and not post about it on the forums, as that could lead others to repeat the same offensive behavior.
Thanks for this, Pamelia. I really didn't know what to do about it. I thought I had to go to the place to report it. I lost the alert when I completed the task I was on, because it transported me. From now on, I'll report the person right away.

Michelle, please don't get me wrong, I don't mean it's*all*or *only* kids, by a long shot. I just mean that I have seen a significant amount of the behavior coming from kids. I know that there are some scary, scary adults out there, which is why I keep my eye on my nephew.

Safra said it very well in another thread, that a lot of the young ones don't have the life experience to recognize what a risk they put themselves in when they go around asking for BF/GF with total strangers, even if it's "just an online BF/GF" like they sometimes say to me regardless of my motto stating that I am 36 and DON'T want an online BF/GF... (edit: shoot, even when I was in my early to mid 20's, I was so naive about some of the scariness out there and put myself at risk plenty of times--of course, I considered myself so world-wise at the time and didn't recognize my own naivity, I don't know if I would have taken advice had I been given it; with some things I've really had to learn the hard way, because I was so sheltered myself, I didn't have a clue just how bad folks could be; and what little I've been through in my experiences has opened my eyes to the fact that there is so much even worse that could have happened, so I try to prep others to not make the same mistakes I did or even worse ones... talking with my Mom, she has the same memories about her teens and 20s about risks taken and consequences, so I know I'm not alone in this!)

Online predators scare the living daylights out of me, because they convince the young ones how harmless they are. Again, I am thrilled at the steps SW is taking, I just don't want those steps to make us overly complacent to the point we don't keep an eye out ourselves as well.

Yes I saw that alert too. I went there, found the owner and reported them. Will never know what SW does but at least I did what I could do.
