I've been happily playing through the various missions and outfitting my house with interesting furniture... but now I've noticed I only have a few tokens left. What's worse - the mission I have requires me to buy a piece of furniture ("Double Date" - need only one more chair!) which I can't afford. So I'm quite stuck now... and furthermore - all alts seem to share the same wallet, so I cannot even start over with an alt.

If we cannot buy gold and cannot earn tokens in beta, then what can we do once we've gone broke? Is it game over? Wait for a hand-out?

I understand that this problem will go away once we're able to buy gold with RL money, but it still feels like there should never be a dead-end in the missions due to a lack of funds. Maybe there can be some menial jobs where players can earn tokens? (perhaps even jobs from amazon's turk?)

Yea I agree that there needs to be another way to get tokens. Winning at games perhaps? Or being able to throw a party and charge and entrance fee? Maybe even give tokens for things like rating music, singing guestbooks, making friends, posting in the forums etc. to encourage socializing.

Hello Mates. Currently SmallWorlds is of course, in the beta stage. There are other ways to gain, coins. At the moment, there are contests at which you can Join and possible win. The Reward can go above 1000+ Which makes it even better.

As Luke had mentioned there is the Real Money, But remember the staff is trying there bests.

you can get around the problem by borrowing someone else's furniture (they can take their furniture and place it in your house)

Thanks, Mr. Sure, I didn't realize that! That will probably be the best work-around for me at the moment.

But if I were in charge of prioritizing fixes to beta, I would say: #1- Give a stipend of a few tokens or coins per day to everyone in beta, just so that they continue to have money to play around with. #2- Implement functionality that lets users trade coins and tokens.

My 2 cents... (or "2 tokens" as it were...)

I agree. Seeing as though it is beta it would be nice to get some sort of stipend. I doubt I will be playing seeing as though I have no tokens to play with.

There are currently several ways to get tokens in SmallWorlds:

- Completing missions.
- Winning tournaments.
- Running your own tournament and charging and entry fee.
- Winning Samurai Duels (assuming you bet some tokens)
- Refunding items that you no longer want.

It is not currently possible to swap tokens with other avatars directly, but you can gift items, which can then be refunded (although you will only receive a percentage of the full purchase value).

@Luke: I'd recommend trying to borrow the table and chairs from someone or getting a refund on some of the things you've already purchased. Aside from that, perhaps budgeting skills might come in handy

Or maybe there could be a SmallWorlds credit card you could use and if you don't pay it off the repo man pays you a visit!

I have to agree here -- none of the "several" ways are really adequate.

- Missions: I'm stuck waiting for a weekend to perform a mission and/or trying to get 4 people to complete the mini golf game, which is very buggy.
- Tournaments: take too long and some of these people have too much popaloon time on their hands. Running one requires an arcade game, which requires money.
- Duels -- hardly anyone plays for money, or maybe 1-2 tokens.
- Refunding items -- all I want are graffiti boards, and I've sold everything else to get them.

So I agree with the OP -- need more ways to earn tokens. Thanks!

Hi folks - really appreciate your feedback.

The one other way you can earn tokens currently is by building your social status by inviting friends in via the Share button.

We're also looking into other options in the next week or so to provide extra ways of earning tokens.
