I agree with the idea of an NPC or a daily allowance at sign in to keep the flow money available for additional purchases. I'm sure that staff has other plans and methods of accumulating wealth after the Beta Phase. However, it is also important to maintain the interest of those who are actively furnishing and decorating their room. Since the Social Network aspect is a major factor in the sites appeal, most of us want a comfortable room were we can entertain our friends and Guests. That entails the purchasing of furnishings, entertainment and gaming items. Until the Beta Phase is completed I think that they are worthwhile considerations.

I think the reward system for the share button is a good idea. However, word of this site is spreading rapidly outside of the game itself. After viewing the guided tour, I recognized it's potential and notified all of my displaced friends via e-mail or messenger. Many of them have signed up. Since most of this activity takes place outside of the game rather than through the share button, adding a how did you hear about us or who recommended us field to the registration would be nice. That way those who recruit new members through other means can be rewarded as well.

Other considerations for awarding tokens would be by time spent in the game or your actual activity level in the game. Maybe you could consider kindness for adding to your social status. I'm not sure how you would be able to capture that data but a number of people have been helping others to accomplish their missions. I've enjoyed helping others and made a few new friends along the way.

Just a few ideas. I want to take the opportunity to thank you for creating a great place for my friends to migrate to.

This actually is my biggest problem in Small Worlds. (my only actually but its a biggie to me). As a more independent gamer, I am bothered that there is not a way to earn tokens by yourself as well as these missions. Sometimes you just want to earn some money and buy some things to spiffy up your room. I am not thrilled i have to enlist other help as the ONLY way to move forward economically.
I would love a little more balance on this.
Why aren't we able to earn tokens in individual games?

Well I think that a few people have been caught in the loop of it's a new game and places to shop and they bought things along the way and boom, no money now. I know I was tempted at the start to buy stuff, but I was more curious about the missions and that saved me from spending my money on stuff that would have made me broke.

My biggest frustration with the game is that I have to get others help (3 or more people) to help me move forward with a mission. There should be alternates for missions that require a certain number of people. I had a heck of a time trying to just find 3 people to visit my house. It took 3 days of pleading and I finally lucked out that 2 friends were on and were willing to help.

Yes! If you are part of someone's completion of a mission, you should receive tokens for it. This would make it easier to find people to help.

For example, if you need to sit in the hot tub with 3 people to complete a mission, all 4 of you should get tokens. If you need someone to pet your dog, the one who pets the dog should get tokens.

Not that we should need bribery to help others, but still, it seems like a good thing to do to encourage it. And then, when people get to the 10 player dance party mission, it would be a lot easier to finish.

Actually, I've done a fine job of managing my tokens. I have just the items required for the tasks so far. With the minor exception that I accidentally purchased a picture frame while trying to view it. I did emphasize the need for money management to my friends because of the need to purchase items in order to comply with task requirements. I was up to 600 tokens prior to my Pool Table (150) purchased as required by my last assignment.

Since this is Beta Phase I think the suggestions are valid. Staff has indicated that there will be additional ways to accumulate cash and tokens that are not currently available in this phase. Since we are here to test the capabilities of the system to handle the demands of it's component parts, It's important that we can utilize the items that will put a strain on it's resources. That includes Video, sound and games. Since this is designed as a social network the game has to be capable of meeting those demands not merely intermittently by a few but by high volume and demand. So, if you have a game room, you should be able to have board games, Video's, Arcade games and music operating simultaneously. In order to test that theory members who are participating in beta testing need to have the revenue necessary to purchase the items. This is not about money management it's about impact loading the system to assess it's capabilities and to correct any identified deficiencies.

I agree with Tour's statements and believe that this is only an issue for testing during beta. Having more money (tokens) freely available to us now would allow us to try out more things and find faults before the final version of the game is released live. However these tokens are given to us doesn't really matter since it's only temporary (my guess is that a stipend or allowance would be easiest to program).

But we should not expect that this will continue. Obviously once the ability to buy coins with real life cash is activated, that will become the primary source of money in-world (as well as a source of income for Outsmart) and we shouldn't expect free money. (Unless of course the game can be paid for entirely with ads somehow... not sure exactly what Outsmart's business model is.)

I think it's ridiculous that you only get 20 tokens for buying a 150 token pool table.
